Ambassador’s Debate Finals at the US Embassy - Frankly Speaking 2024

Collecting my medal!

On the 29th of February 2024, I had the privilege of representing my school in the Frankly Speaking Competition - hosted at the prestigious US Embassy in Nine Elms. Here, I was able to demonstrate my skills in public speaking while debating several interesting topics, such as the ‘special relationship’ between the USA and the UK and the threat of AI in the modern day. Thanks to the strength of our team, we were able to participate in the final debate (also known as the Ambassador’s Debate) against Westgate School. Although we would not succeed, I felt incredibly proud of both myself and my team as I was presented with an individual silver medal for my efforts. Ultimately, this day will hold a special place in my heart as it was the last time I would represent Central Foundation Boys’ School in a public speaking competition. Over the past five years, I have witnessed the growth of both myself and the team as a whole, and I have not regretted a single moment as part of this amazing team.

Many thanks to the US Embassy and the Benjamin Franklin House for making this experience possible!
